Why do i need a Color Card?
A color card is useful when you want to swap out colors specified in a design, or if you've pulled a lot of stitches and are now running out of a color in a kit and want to find it's replacement to buy online or locally instead of waiting weeks for the cross stitch kit manufacturer to send you more!
If you don’t have a shop nearby, picking thread colors can be very frustrating, as I know well. The colors you find on Internet and printed color cards just are not accurate enough. You never really know if the picture is a perfect match for the thread. In turn, you wonder if the thread you buy will really match your canvas.
Thread cards also include the washing instructions for the different thread families.
Another advantage of a real thread color card is that you can use it for color conversion across brands of threads, DMC to Anchor to J&P Coats to Kreinik and many many more.
